EV sales outpace petrol cars for first time as Australians dodge soaring fuel costs
Australia sold more than 27,000 electric vehicles in August, a record 24.9% of new car sales, surpassing both petrol (26,000) and diesel (23,600) vehicles for the first time. Including plug-in hybrids, cars with a plug made up 36% of sales, up from under 2% four years ago.
