China’s solar, wind innovations amid rapid green power buildout

Chinese researchers and companies have generated electricity from winds 4,000 meters above Earth, advanced a cheaper alternative to silicon solar panels toward commercialization, and begun testing some of the world's most powerful offshore wind turbines, as China continues installing solar and wind capacity faster than the rest of the world combined.
