Florida executes man in first of two lethal injections planned in single day

Florida carried out its 11th execution of 2025 on Tuesday and planned a second execution hours later, marking the first time any state has executed two people in a single day since Arkansas did so in 2017. The second execution would make the scheduled inmate, age 80, the second-oldest person executed in modern U.S. history.
