US refunds $81bn in Trump tariffs after supreme court ruled them illegal

The U.S. has refunded $81 billion in Trump tariffs after the Supreme Court struck down a large portion as illegal, up from $5 billion in refunds during the same period last year, and the federal deficit has grown 2% as tariff revenue declined.
